After Kentucky stole the show last night with a thrilling win over UGA to move to 30-0, it’s Louisville basketball’s turn to step into the basketball limelight as they’ll play host to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame tonight at the Yum! Center.

The Cards are back to their winning ways after suffering their first losing streak of the season in mid-February, they come into tonight with a three game winning streak, most recently, coming off an absolute beat down over FSU on Saturday. But their task is not a simple one, and they face their first ranked opponent since falling to Virginia on Feb. 7th – the Irish are coming to town!

Notre Dame rolls in as the #12 team in the land, and are coming off an upset loss to the hand of Syracuse by a 65-60 score

last

Tuesday. Since then, the Irish have been idle from games, and you know they’re itching to get back out there.

The Irish like to score – oh yes do they like to score – as they are the 9th highest scoring team in the land (79.1 points per game) and have the second best field goal percentage in the land (.508). Even with all the points ND scores, they also like to allow a lot of points, and while they have 24 wins on the year, they’ve won conference games by scores of 71-70, 75-70, 81-78 (OT), 60-58…well, you get the picture.

Their heavy hitters are Jerian Grant, who leads the team in scoring with 16.9 points per game, and Pat Connaughton who can get it done on the scoreboard (13.1 ppg) as well as on the boards (eight rebounds per contest). In total, four guys are averaging in double figures.

It’s probably for the best that the Cards’ aren’t stumbling into this one with a pair of ugly, close wins, and have the confidence of the FSU blowout coming into tonight. Can

Montrezl Harrell

and

Wayne Blackshear

continue their outstanding production? Will the Cards outrebound Notre Dame, after tying FSU at 35? Find out next time on Dragon Ball…I mean tonight at seven on ESPN. Oh, speaking of which, here’s your game info.
