In Brandon Doughty we trust

We all know how dangerous a QB Brandon Doughty is. After the first week, Bowling Green State, along with the rest of Conference USA, learned how dangerous a QB Doughty is. Well now, on the week WKU comes of their second bye of the season, the nation now knows how dangerous a QB Doughty is, after NFL.com released their rankings of schools with the best quarterback situations, and listed WKU as ninth. NINTH. In the entire country. That’s pretty awesome.

Here’s what the website had to say about it:

"Weird but true: Doughty was recruited by Willie Taggart, who preferred a run-first offense, struggled a bit under pass-first coach Bobby Petrino last season and now has blossomed with new coach Jeff Brohm. He averages 433.0 passing yards per game and has had two 500-yard games. He has thrown 16 TD passes and is completing 69.0 percent of his passes."

Yeah! WKU and Doughty FTW! (That’s “For The Win,” for those who aren’t hip with the internet lingo.) The only schools that NFL.com says have better QB situations are California, East Carolina, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Baylor, Florida State, Oregon and Mississippi State, who hold the top spot.

The list also gives where the school was before the season began, of which the Tops were 74th. That’s an increase of 65 spots (no, I didn’t use my iPhone calculator…) in just five games. That’s pretty flipping sweet.

Here’s how the rest of C-USA came in on the list: Marshall (12), Old Dominion (25), Middle Tennessee (49), Rice (52), Louisiana Tech (69), UAB (70), Florida Atlantic (79), Southern Miss (82), UTEP (99), Florida International (111), North Texas (118) and UTSA (122).
