ProToppers Primer: Kes Carter awaits first Arizona Fall Leauge game

The good news for former Hilltopper baseball player Kes Carter is that his Peoria Javelinas are 1-0 in Arizona Fall League play. The bad news for the former Hilltopper is that he didn’t play in said victory, but I expect all of that to change today.

More from Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

The Javelinas will face the Surprise Saguaros on the second day of AzFL action, and with the Javelinas having six total outfielders on the roster, I fully assume that means Carter will get his first action of the fall year today.

Jordan Smith

and

Kyle Wren

of Cleveland and Atlanta were the other two outfielders who I expect to get the start today.

While not ProToppers, Bowling Green has multiple connections to the Javelinas, as former Hot Rods Patrick Leonard, Justin O’Conner, Colton Reavis and Jamie Schultz are on the Javelinas as well, with O’Conner and Leonard getting starts yesterday (O’Conner went 3-for-5 while Leonard had an 0-for-5 debut with two K’s). Schultz is the probable starter for this afternoon.

Unless Peoria is involved in the lone night game of the day, every game they’ll play will have a first pitch of 12:35.
