Ugh, do we have to talk about these guys? Okay, fine. hello again to Lightning, the MTSU…horse? Winged horse? I suppose even a pegasus?
I’ll have you know, Lightning isn’t Middle’s first mascot. Oh, no. Originally, they had a mascot named Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate General and the founder of the Klu Klux Klan. But, for obvious reasons, he was changed to “Ole Blue,” a scent hound dog. Lightning came about in 1999, in conjunction with the Raiders’ move to FBS football.
