Georgia State Panthers (6-5 overall, 2-2 this week)
The Panthers had a similar week as WKU did, but on a much lesser scale. Georgia State took on the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, and walked out with a 3-2 win, with all three Panther runs coming in the top of the 7th inning off of UGA’s David Sosebee, who allowed the 3 runs on just 2 hits, and didn’t record an out. The Panthers got a strong start from Kenny Anderson, who went 6.2 innings of 2 run ball, and State’s bullpen combined to throw 2.1 scoreless innings of relief to help seal the deal. Over the weekend, however, the Panthers dropped two of three to Northern Kentucky, only taking the Sunday game, but took it rather convincingly, winning 13-2. The first two games would be one-run losses for the Panthers, as NKU would score a total of 5 runs in their final innings of offense (the 9th inning on Friday, and 11th on Saturday).
