Troy Trojans (5-3 overall, 2-2 this week)
Troy has eight games under their belt, but have only played two four game sets (one of them coming against Northern Kentucky). Weird. By any means, this week saw Troy split a homestand with Central Michigan, and in the process, head coach Bobby Pierce won his 400th game at the helm of the Trojans. No small feat. And, much like WKU, Troy’s strength is on the mound, as three of their listed starers have sub-3.00 ERA’s, and has three guys in the ‘pen who have combined for 9 innings of work, and zero runs allowed. Even with a 13.50 ERA belonging to Austin Sulivan, Troy still has a staff ERA of 2.75. Not too shabby, fellas. Offensively, they are lead by David Hall with a .417 average, and Jo-El Bennett, wh0 has gone yard thrice and driven home seven men. Troy is another team that is just warming up, and look to be dangerous once things get into full swing. (Yes. Pun intended.)
