While the Kentucky Wildcats run of perfection was cut short late last night by the Wisconsin Badgers, Head Coach John Calipari continues to rake in the awards, including an election to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

A source told ESPN.com that Calipari received 18 votes out of 24, the requirement to get in to the esteemed club. He joins a long list of past and present coaches to be awarded the honor of being a member of the club.

Calipari has taken three different college programs to the Final Four, those being Massachusetts in 1996, Memphis in 2008, and of course Kentucky. Also to note, he has led the Wildcats to the Final Four four times out of the last five years, and to the Elite Eight five out of his six years at UK.

John has compiled quite the successful NCAA record, totaling 593 wins and 174 losses, with a win percentage of .773.

Calipari’s counterpart for last nights matchup, Bo Ryan, was notified that the Wisconsin head coach fell short of the votes required, leaving him out of this year’s Hall of Fame Class.

This year’s class enshrinement ceremony will be held in Springfield, Massachusetts on September 11th.
