Louisville Basketball Game Grades: Terry Rozier explodes in second half
Louisville basketball barely escaped the now 3-13 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets last night, and a lot of that was due to poor shooting (37% from the floor, 31.3% from three, 41.2% from the free throw line) as well as getting outrebounded, out scored in the paint and in transition, and scoring only 17 points in the first half.
However. Just like a good team should, they found a way when it was crunch time, and advanced are back on a winning streak. But, it wasn’t all bad. A trio of Cards had a larger impact than the rest of the team, and it’s a bit scary to think about what would have happened without them on the floor.
As a whole, if I had to give the Cards a grade, it’d probably be around C- or D+. It wasn’t a very good game. They were able to put things together in the second half and came up clutch when it mattered most, and yes, Georgia Tech is better than their three-win ACC record would indicate. As the old saying goes, an ugly win is better than a pretty loss.
