Louisville Basketball Game Grades: Montrezl Harrell has dominant day

The Louisville Cardinals were tested at home earlier today by the Hurricanes of Miami, and nearly dropped a consecutive home loss. But thanks to the following gentlemen, or no thanks, the Cardinals were able to fly high in victory.

A+. The leader for this round of game grades is awarded to Montrezl Harrell. I want to give Harrell a solid “A+” due to his flat out dominance in the statistical categories this afternoon. He led all scorers with 21 points, was one rebound shy of tying for the leader in rebounds with 14, with six rebounds coming on the offensive end. Harrell also added three steals, three blocks, and one assist. He is a machine, he is a really solid player, but his temper is a huge pitfall for the guy. But aside from the attitude issues, Montrezl was THE impact performer for today and most likely was the reason that lifted the Cards to the win.. F. Louisville Cardinals. MONTREZL HARRELL

Louisville Cardinals. CHRIS JONES. B. Coming off of a one game suspension, Chris Jones picked up his game and proved that he wanted to be out on the court. Jones saw a total of 17 points fall through the net, as he also had five rebounds, two assists as well as a pair of steals. After having to sit one game out, in which the Cardinals lost to Syracuse, the intensity Jones brought to the hardwood made a world of difference for Louisville basketball.. G

WAYNE BLACKSHEAR. C. Next is forward Wayne Blackshear, who yet again had just had an average outing. Blackshear totaled 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 assists. So, with an average outing, what other grade would you expect to receive?. F. Louisville Cardinals

D-. The sophomore added six points to his name, seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Not too bad right? Well how about 3-15 from the floor, and 0-4 from behind the arc? Rozier continued to shoot, and miss, and then continued to shoot some more. There comes a point when you need to add to that assists column rather than take it upon yourself to shoot when you’re having an off night. Rozier shot the most out of anyone on the court, ending his day with a shooting percentage of 20. The only reason Terry isn’t receiving a huge “F” for his grade are his other stats for today, but, rest assured by my grading he will receive a “D-” for his terrible shooting display.. G. Louisville Cardinals. TERRY ROZIER

Those are the four Cardinals I see noteworthy of grading. Do you agree with my report cards? Comment below or tweet at us @BluegrassDom on twitter.
