Good morning, Hilltoppers! Just one more day until we have action on the hardwood again, plus a jersey retirement! But first, some news that might have passed you by over the past 24 hours or so.

  • SBNation counted down the 100 best games of 2014, and you’ll never believe it, but two WKU football games made the list AND they were in the Top 10! Spoiler alert, one of these games was #3. Meaning there were only two better games all year long, guys. Started from the bottom, now we here.
  • In the next hour or so, WKU is offering 32 cent tickets (yes, tickets for LESS THAN HALF A DOLLAR) for Thursday night’s tilt with UTEP. It also happens to go along with the whole Courtney Lee jersey number thing. But still – 32 cent tickets. Not bad at all.
  • UTEP’s website has put up a preview of Thursday’s game, with comments from Miners coach Tim Floyd. Enjoy.
  • But, will the Miners have their leading scorer?
  • Is the man who helped bring UAB football to an end on his way out as President? The plot thickens, friends.
  • Back to WKU news for a second, Brandon Doughty and former Lady Topper soccer player Sydney Sisler are engaged!!! Congrats to the two of them!
  • Southern Miss is winless in conference play so far, so it’s not like they were a lock for the conference tournament anyway. But, regardless of what their C-USA record is come seasons end, the Golden Eagles will not be participating in the tournament, due to an NCAA inquiry of the basketball program. Uh-oh.
  • The Lady Toppers are back in the A.P. Top 25, but they aren’t getting any votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
