A pair of Hilltoppers recruits named to McDonalds All-American Game

Good morning, Hilltoppers! It’s a WKU game day as the Lady Tops take the Diddle floor for the first time in 2015 and the Fella Tops take their talents to the Sunshine state. But, before we get you ready for tipoffs today, lets take you around some news and notes from yesterday.

  • The Hilltoppers are in action tonight! Here’s what happened the last time WKU took the court (spoiler alert – history was made).
  • The Lady Toppers also return to action today, and here’s what happened the last time they took the floor.
  • Florida Atlantic is tonight’s opponent, and the Owls are coming off a pretty ugly sweep at the hands of MTSU. The women allowed 100 points and the men didn’t fare much better.
  • A pair of Hilltoppers hoops recruits were named to the McDonalds All-American Game yesterday.
  • The guys over at Rivals have launched an Inside Hilltoppers Sports podcast! I listened to it last night, and you should listen to it right now.
  • We released our first Conference USA power rankings yesterday! If you haven’t, check it out and tell us what we got wrong.
  • Miss Hilltoppers football yet? Check out these five predictions I made, even though its only January, surrounding the 2015 squad.
  • For a hot minute yesterday, it seemed that Ayinde Sprewell had found a new home, but he went straight to the man (Zach Greenwell, who’s actually the man) and set the record straight.
  • In Conference USA news, SBNation sees C-USA as a one bid league, and its the Monarchs who – for now – hold it. But, there’s a nifty little WKU shout out at the bottom of the article!
  • Also, C-USA wasn’t the worst conference in college football this past year. So, that’s something.

Alright, with that out of the way, lets get ready for GAMEDAY! Be sure to stick here at Wave The Red Towel as we get you previews and recaps/post game reaction after today’s double header with FAU.

If you ever come across an article – WKU or C-USA related – and you think it’d go great in this segment, send it our way! We’d love to share it with the rest of the world.
