Busy off day for WKU basketball

Good morning Tops fans! It was a busy day for WKU basketball, even though no one actually took the floor or participated in a game. Well, enough with the jibber jabber – here are your morning links!

  • The Lady Toppers became just the fifth team since 2000 to fall out of the Top 25, despite a perfect week. In WKU’s case, it was a week of two road conference wins that were both won by double figures. Not that I’m bitter or anything. (P.s. – I’m totally bitter)
  • While the Fella Tops aren’t ranked (yet), they’ve been included in CBS’ Tournament projections. Awwww yeah.
  • Staying with the fellas, George Fant is co-Player of the Week. CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK?! Oh well, I guess better than nothing.
  • UAB is keeping head man Jerod Hasse for another two years past his original contract, but he must remain silent on matters on the school. Which, in times like these, could be a bit difficult.
  • The Memphis Grizzlies did…this with Courtney LeeDon’t ask. Just watch and be amazed.
  • The Lady Tops will be home this weekend, believe it or not! Todd Stewart guarantees you’ll have fun. He’s putting his money where his mouth is.
  • The Hot Rods are up for a Sporting News title! Kind of. Sporting news and Minor League Baseball are running a “best nickname” contest.
  • Finally, a UofL volleyball player is Miss Kentucky and is headed to Miss USA. Clearly not WKU related, but still cool Bluegrass news.
