Today is a monumental day in the history of Wave the Red Towel.

Okay, maybe not really, but we are starting something new today and we hope you’ll like it. Below, you’re going to find links. Sometimes, it’ll be lots and lots of links, while other times, it’ll only be a handful. Regardless, we are going to provide these for you every morning so you can start your day right with some WKU and Conference USA information so you can spout your knowledge around the water cooler to all your coworkers and they’ll become super jealous of how smart you are. Just trust me on this.

So, without further adieu, I give to your our first morning Towel Rack:

  • Lets start with the biggest news of yesterday in Hilltopper land – Courtney Lee is having his jersey retired in Diddle! No Hilltopper ever again will wear #32. Congratulations, Courtney.
  • SBNation.com’s Football Study Hall broke down some more advanced numbers between WKU and the Chippewas from the Bahamas Bowl, and that game was much closer than you remember. (Although, a game that’s decided by only one point should be that close, right?)
  • Speaking of the Bahamas Bowl, Brandon Doughty made NFL.com’s All-Bowl team, being named the lone quarterback. That’s right. The lone quarterback of a bowl-all star team (esseintially) is our Brandon Doughty. Pretty awesome. Now, I know you might be thinking Cooper Rush certainly deserved at least a mention – fret not. He got one.
  • Louisiana Tech released their non-conference schedule yesterday, and the Techsters have a pretty solid collection of out-of-conference games. Could they be 2015’s Marshall?
  • The Tops took the hardwood last night, but of course, you knew that. The Lady Toppers won their 10th game in a row in a 76-61 victory over Charlotte, while the Fella Tops defeated the 49ers in Diddle 74-66.

Now, with great power comes great responsibility. No, I’m just kidding. Go ahead and flaunt your knowledge to all your cohorts this morning! If you ever come across an article – WKU or C-USA related – and you think it’d go great in this segment, send it our way! We’d love to share it with the rest of the world.
