Hilltoppers vs. Owls live stream and staff picks

Bye weeks are no fun. Luckily for the Hilltoppers, they’re finished with those for a while, and they begin their streak of seven games in seven weeks to end the season today against FAU. It’s being called a must-win for both sides, and each fan base wont have to wait long to see what the result is.

Below, as always, you can find our live-tweet stream. And again, as always, you’re more than welcome to interact on twitter with us in any way you’d like. We love interacting with you all!

It’s that time where we give our picks for today’s game!

Fletcher Keel, editor (1-4) – The Tops aren’t at home, and don’t have the opportunity to lay a Smith Stadium egg in front of their fanbase. This is the first game since the passing of Jimmy Feix, and the defense is going to finally show up to play a complete game. Or, at least, not completely fall apart in the second half. Ace Wales again will get a majority of the carries, and be very successful at it, and FAU wont score on a kickoff. Give me the Tops, 49-35.

Marcus Browning, staff writer (0-5) – The Hilltoppers are going to even out their record as I see them picking up the win today at FAU. The Tops offense will continue its same production, but will have to be wary as FAU provides a not too shabby secondary. However the WKU defense is still the “X” factor as they will have to battle a dual threat QB in Jaquez Johnson. The Hilltoppers pick up a much needed road win over FAU 38-31.

Will Puckett, staff writer (3-2) – The Tops get a great change today to set things back on track. FAU has allowed opponents to score over 30 points in every game. The Owls beat a good UTSA team three weeks ago. For WKU, their defense needs to set the tone early. The Tops will get their usual production out of the offense and the defense will rise to the occasion. Hilltoppers leave Boca Raton with a 45-38 win.

Wally Hughes, staff writer (0-2) – The defense of both teams have struggled this season.  Fortunately for the Tops, so has the Owls’ offense.  Typically the defense decides a game,  but in this instance it will be offensive firepower,  and WKU has plenty in its arsenal. Look for Doughty to have his usual big game,  and for the running game to be established early and often. The boys in red will put up over 500 yards of offense in this one,  and win 48-42.
