Conference USA basketball media day primer

How do you know the basketball season is almost here? Well, for starters, the conferences will hold their media day, which for Conference USA, just so happens to be today!

Both coach Ray Harper and Michelle Clark Heard, along with the 13 other C-USA men’s and women’s basketball programs, will be in Birmingham, Alabama today, and if I’d had to speculate, I’d guess that there will be a whole lot of WKU coming into the conference talk, which will be lots of fun.

Unfortunately, no one from WTRT will be able to make it to Dixie, but we will get you the news any way possible. Throughout the day, we’ll be retweeting, quoting, etc. good bits from all around the conference, and come tonight or tomorrow morning, we’ll have a recap for you of all the things said that made us smile, made us excited to play in the not Sun Belt and make us scratch our heads.

Also, hopefully, the rest of the C-USA preseason coaches poll will be released, after the top four – Louisiana Tech, UTEP, Charlotte and Old Dominion – were released along with the preseason C-USA All Conference team, of which Hilltoppers George Fant and T.J. Price found themselves included in.

It’s an exciting few days in terms of hardwood action, with today, Hilltopper Hysteria on Saturday, and WKU’s specific media day sometime next week.
