Yesterday, the WKU family lost a vital member, as former Hilltopper player and coach Jimmy Feix, of who the L.T. Smith Stadium field is named after, passed away yesterday at the age of 83. To show just how important Feix was to WKU, just about everyone involved with the school and athletic department took to twitter yesterday to pay their respects.

All-American QB, longtime assistant, winningest head coach in school history and AD. Hard to do more than what Jimmy Feix did for WKU.

A quick search of “Jimmy Feix” on twitter will pop up a ton more results, including current and former players, coaches and even people who cover WKU. It’s hard to remember the last time a Hilltopper passing had this impact, and I’ll bet good money it’ll be anytime soon it happens again.
R.I.P. Coach Feix.
