While CUSA football kicked off last night, CUSA futbol continued it’s season as well, with 13 league teams all in action.

Marshall 3 – Eastern Illinois 0
The Herd have a mark in the win column, after two goals from Kelly Culicerto – just a game after her older sister, Kristine Culicerto – did the same thing. It’s the second time in the younger Culicerto’s career that she has done so.

North Texas at Houston – Cancelled
Yup. Friggin can-celled. Due to lightning…that’s what the UNT website has for us.

Louisiana Tech 6 – Lewis 0
Louisiana Tech must have switched their game mode to “super mega easy,” because they’ve scored 14 goals in their last two games. Overall, it’s the third straight Lady Techster win, and Louisiana Tech found the back of the net five times in the second 45 minutes to go on to their 6-0 throttling. All of the goals were scored from different Techsters, but Annabel Prior dished out two assists, as well as the lone goal in the first half.

Southern Miss 5 – Jackson State 0
Southern Miss also needs to up the difficulty of their matches, because they have scored 13 times over their last two games. The shutout marks the first time the Golden Eagles have shut out back-to-back opponents on the year. Four different USM players scored, lead by two from Karen Torres, the first goals of her career.

Kansas 2 – UTSA 1
In a battle of 2-0 teams, it was the big-conference school that got the victory, thanks to a Jayhawk goal in the 74th minute. Brianna Livecchi was the lone scorer for the Roadrunners.

Pepperdine 4 – FAU 0
The Owls were unable to find the net against Pepperdine, and they allowed three goals in the first half alone. FAU only got three shots off through 90 minutes.

Costal Carolina 2 – Charlotte 1 (OT)
The 49ers scored in the 85th minute to send the game into overtime, but couldn’t break through before Costal Carolina did, scoring the winning goal in the 95th minute. Perri Bonner scored the lone 9er goal.

VCU 1 – Old Dominion 1
Old Dominion thought they had the game won, until a goal in the 89th minute off a corner kick gave VCU the equalizer. ODU Captain Jessie Klamut gave the Monarchs an early lead in the 7th minute.

UAB 1 – Davidson 0
UAB played in just their second contest of 2014 last night, and defeated Davidson on a goal from Morgan Key-Adams.

Middle Tennessee 2 – Lipscomb 1 (OT)
MTSU grabbed their first win of 2014 by taking the Lady Bison to OT, and winning on the road. The Blue Raiders scored in the 23rd minute (Grace Summers), but Lipscomb found the equalizer in the 82nd minute. MTSU would score the game winning goal less than 90 seconds left in the first overtime on a boot Summers again.

Rice 2 – Lamar 0
Both of Rice’s goals came in the second half and they both came off the foot of Holly Hargreaves.

UTEP 4 – Incarnate Word 0
All four of the Miners’ goals were scored by different players, and UTEP netted three of them in the second half. Bri Thomas, Angela Cutaia, Nicole Lindsay and Alexis Roberts were your scorers.

Santa Clara 1 – FIU 0
The lone goal of the game came in the 75th minute, and the Panthers were outshot 12-5, and dropped to 1-2 on the year.
