Get to Know Conference USA Mascots

Say hello to UNC Charlotte’s Norm The Niner. Born in 1949 (at least, according to his bio page on the Niner’s website), Norm is, obviously, a Miner, and is a nod to the Reed Gold Mine in Concord (near the university), and is the first documented gold find in the country (1799). Norm also is also in honor of the Charlotte branch of the U.S. Mint. Norm is available to appear at events of Niners fans, and can be followed on twitter at @NormanNiner.
