Will: After some careful and long consideration I have decided my least favorite Sun Belt School is, none other, than South Alabama.

Now I’m sure most of you are wondering why I pick South Al as my least favorite SBC school. I’ll try and make it quick and simple – tt’s because they’re pretty good. USA officially became a D1 school in all their sports in the spring of 2012, and I believe and in that short time they got good, fast. When WKU was going for their championship in softball in 2013, who stopped them? South Alabama. Who is the best softball team in the Sun Belt in 2014? South AL. My biggest sticking point to why I hate USA is this – I believe they are the reason that WKU didn’t get a bowl bid for football in 2013. I think the loss in Mobile is what spurned voters and controllers of Bowls to bring WKU back-to-back post season in football.

Overall I am happy to be out of the Sun Belt and excited to see what CUSA brings for WKU. I won’t miss ULL either but overall, I am beyond happy to be away from the pests of the Sun Belt…South Alabama.
