Xavius Boyd was also picked up post-draft, by signing as an undrafted free agent with a familiar team for WKU fans. The Baltimore Ravens picked up the senior linebacker to bolster their linebacking corps. Baltimore picked up some solid pieces in the draft, but they certainly wont regret signing Boyd. Xavius lead the Sun Belt in tackles for loss (15.5) and sacks (8.5), and actually had better numbers than and a more solid all around season than Ol’ Hickory, but doesn’t carry the name recognition. NFL.com’s scouting profile of Boyd is incredibly positive, and listed him as a “priority free agent.” The more you look at him, it’s a wonder he didn’t get drafted, but no wonder he quickly got picked up. While the Ravens run a 3-4 (and Boyd is more suited for a 4-3), the Birds do like to shift packages, and Boyd will do wonders on the weak side.
