On to the next one…the Championship game that is for Western Kentucky. The Lady Tops continue their recent trend of play…winning. WKU has won 9 straight and their most recent victim was the women from Arkansas-Little Rock.

The Lady Trojans didn’t have a terrible outing…they shot 50% from the floor, 71% from the FT line, out rebounded the Tops, had more points from the bench and in the paint, and more assists. So what led to their downfall? How about 16 turnovers? Turnovers that created extra possessions for the Tops…which was a huge downfall in a game where every possession counted. Despite trailing for most of the game…the Lady Trojans came back to make things interesting late…almost causing the upset.

UALR’s main impact performers were Taylor Gault as she was tied with WKU’s Kendall Noble to lead all scorers with 19 points on the evening. She was helped out by Taylor Ford (10pts; 7 reb), Hannah Fohne (10pts; 5 reb), and Kiera Clark (2pts; 11 reb).

As for the Lady Tops they nearly let this one slip…allowing a early 2nd half lead of 13 to be wiped away to a tie ball game with 3 minutes to go. The 16 forced turnovers really gave WKU an edge as they capitalized on those extra possessions scoring 19 points. The Lady Tops shot a mere 36% from the floor, 33% from the 3, and 70% from the FT line.

WKU’s main performers include Kendall Noble with 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. As well as Micah Jones (17pts; 2 reb: 2 ast) and Chastity Gooch (16pts; 9 reb; 3 ast). The Lady Tops look to keep their momentum up as they come storming into the SBC Championship against Arkansas State.

It will be a #1 verses #2 match up, and we couldn’t ask for any better of one. So be sure to keep an eye out as the girls tip-off at 8! Stand up and Cheers for the Lady Tops!
