Go ahead and mark it down…the Lady Tops have won 6 straight games in blowout fashions.

Chaney Means and Bianca McGee closed out their home Hilltopper careers, as the duo was honored on John Oldham Court prior to the start of the game on senior night, the first senior night the ladies have had since the 2011-2012 season.

Now tonight’s game was more on the close side of things, but coming into tonight, WKU’s closest win was by a margin of 24 points. To put it simply…this Lady Tops squad has loads of momentum headed in the right direction.

Tonight the Tops would once again put up a lead fairly quick against the Ragin Cajuns, as they had control of the game 24-8. WKU would hold it out down the stretch picking their sixth win in a row.

Louisiana-Lafayette did their best to stop the Hilltopper momentum, but they couldn’t get the Tops to stumble. Some of the Cajuns offensive leaders included Kia Willridge, as she knocked down 21 points. She was helped by off the bench standout Brooklyn Arceneaux, who accumulated 16 points as well as 5 rebounds. ULL shot 46% from the field, and went a perfect 10 of 10 from the free-throw line. Their two areas of defeat? Turnovers and player fouls – they would turn the ball of 19 times and their players would accumulate 30 personal fouls.

WKU would capitalize on those areas of weakness as they had 21 points off of turnovers and went 33 of 42 from the charity stripe. The Tops would also win the rebounding game as they totaled 36 boards…9 more than the Ragin Cajuns.

Some of the Hilltopper standouts would include, who else, but Chastity Gooch as she rounded out a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards and Kendall Noble would be right by her side as she would collect 17 points of her own as well as 4 rebounds. More stats as a team include shooting 44% as well as 3-10 from behind the arc. Their free throw percentage would end up being 79%.

The Lady Tops will round out their season this Satruday at 11 AM against Georgia State in Atlanta. If you’re looking for a long weekend, or want a fun thing to do on your way to Florida for Spring Break, stop in the ATL to check out the double header and as the ladies look to finish on a 7 game winning streak, and the men will look to take revenge on the Panthers.
