Its that time of the year again y’all… its Senior Night in Diddle Arena as the Lady Tops take on the Rajin Cajuns from Louisiana Lafayette. Seniors Chaney Means and Bianca McGee look to end their Hilltopper careers on high notes, as WKU is one of the hottest teams in the nation, winning their last five games by 24 points or more.

The last time these two teams faced it was WKU who came out on top by a score of 68-63. The Hilltopper who came through in the clutch the last round was Junior Chastity Gooch who posted 22 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for the Evening. Western only managed to hit 4 of 18 from the field in the opening half. Both teams exchanged runs to start the second installment but WKU pulled away as Micah Jones drained back-to-back three’s to give the Hilltoppers the lead for good.

Tonights game will pit the high flying WKU offense which is ranked 4th in the nation averaging 87 points per game against  a Rajin Cajuns team that is on a four game win streak. However for ULL they are a meager 5-7 on the road this season and sit at 14-13 over all this year. Players to watch for WKU are as always Chastity Gooch. Gooch is hitting almost 50% form the field while averaging 37 minutes per game. Now i would like to switch something up here and our second Lady Topper to watch tonight isn’t a player. But rather it is Coach Michelle Clark-Herd. MCH is a win away from bringing WKU its first Multi 20 win season since the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons. Last year MCH broke a sunbelt record for best turn around in a single season. Tonight i challenge y’all to watch how she interacts with her players and watch how she coaches these ladies because y’all, she as Jonathan Dowling would say… Is a Diamond.

For ULL as a team they are averaging 64.7 points per game. They average 4 three’d made per game while grabbing 36 plus boards. One bright spot in ULL play is they only commit on average 15 turnovers per outing while forcing their opponents into 21 of those mistakes. The leading lady for the Rajin Cajuns is Sylvana Okde. Okde has 90 FG’s made on the season while also hitting around 30 percent from beyond the arc. The second notable Rajin Cajun is Keke Veal. Veal is the team leader averaging 11.9 points per game while seeing only 337 minutes all season.

Ladies and gentleman come out tonight and support your lady Hilltoppers as Seniors Bianca McGee and Chaney Means step on the Diddle hardwood for the final time in a Hilltopper uniform. From all of us here at WTRT have a safe and pleasant evening and as always… GO TOPS!
