South Alabama Jaguars (5-5 overall, 3-1 this week)
The Jaguars started the season slowly, but have made a statement here as of late, beating Jacksonville State, and taking 2 of 3 in a weekend series against the Arkansas Razorbacks. After giving up 12 runs and only knocking four hits in the opener, South Al’s pitching calmed down and their hitting came alive, as the Jags won a Saturday doubleheader against the ‘Backs. South Al only used three total pitchers, as Locke St. John went 8.1 innings, allowing just one run and striking out three in game one, and Kevin Hill did more of the same in game two, going 8 innings and allowing three runs while K’ing 5. Brandon Hallford came to pitch the in 9th in both games, getting the final 2 outs in game one, and pitching the entirety of the 9th in game 2.
