It’s been about half a week since the Lady Tops took the court and blew ULM out of Diddle, and the roll will, hopefully, continue tonight in San Marcos, Texas, as the Lady Tops and Lady Bobcats will duke it out in round two on the season.

In the first meeting in Diddle, WKU dropped the matchup 72-63, but had a strong effor from Chastity Gooch, as she posted 15 points and seven boards. Three of her teammates also contributed double-digits in the losing effort.

The Bobcats were lead by sophomore guard Erin Peoples, who dropped 17 points and nine rebounds, while two other Lady Cats had double figures as well.

However, the Lady Tops are hot. And that is an understatement.
WKU has won three straight games by an average of 27 points, and are scoring at least 49 points in the first half. On the flip side, Texas State has gone an even 2-2 over their past four games, and most recently, are coming off a 74-55 loss to Arkansas St.

WKU is lead by the tandem of Gooch and Kendall Noble, with the former averaging 18 points and nine boars per game, and the latter averaging 9.6 points per outting.

The Bobcats still are getting major production from Peoples, but are lead by senior center Ashley Ezeh, notching 13 points and 6 rebounds per 40 minutes. Peoples is putting up 10.4 and 5.5, and senior guard Kaylan Martin is averaging 8.2 points per game.

WKU and Texas State come into this one tied for second place in Sun Belt play, so if this one wasn’t already a big one, it is now.

Stand up and cheers.
