Tonight your Lady Tops take on The University of Texas at Arlington Mavericks for the first time in Diddle Arena at 7pm. The Lady Tops, who continue to climb the ladder, sit at a healthy 13-5 over all and 5-2 in the Sun Belt. UT Arlington, however, is looking for some kind of hope as they are 1-17 overall and 0-7 in the Sun Belt. Reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week and National Mid-Major Player of the Week Chastity Gooch will find herself in a familiar position, as she is the key for WKU, as well Kendal Noble, who has seen a lot of playing time after Alexis Govan went down in December. Gooch is nearing 100 career assists, steals and blocks, she only needs two blocks to join only 5 other Lady Tops to boast this totals. In Western’s past 6 games, Noble has averaged 13.8 points, 6.0 Rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals and is also seeing floor for 26 minutes on average.

For UT Arlington, this is the first time they will face Western Kentucky. UTA’s last trip out dropped a heart breaker in over time to South Alabama 73-72. The player to watch for the Mavericks is senior center Desharra Nwanguma who had 19 points and 17 rebounds and posted a double-double in her last outing. Final thing to note for UTA is in 18 games this season, the Mavericks have used 5 different line ups which may make it difficult for WKU know what to watch for.
