Topper fans not only do we get to celebrate victories by both the Men’s and Women’s teams over Troy this past weekend, but we also get to celebrate Chastity Gooch‘s individual play here recently as she was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week. This is Gooch’s second time being named SBC Player of the Week as she also received the honor earlier this season in November.

Gooch received the honor this time due to stellar performances during the span of December 17th through January 4th. During this time span she helped lead the Hilltoppers to three victories out of four games played. In the four games she averaged double-double figures with statistics of 21.5 PPG, 10.3 RPG, and saw a field goal shooting percentage of 56%.

Gooch had an even more outstanding game this past Saturday at Troy as she knocked down 30 points and found 16 boards. She set a new personal best with the 30 points scored in the game, along with the 16 rebounds tying her personal best.

As for the Season Stats, Gooch is averaging 17 PPG with 53% FG shooting and 42% 3PT shooting. She also is averaging 10.5 RPG, 1.5 Blk/Game and 1.4 Stl/Game.

Chastity’s play has helped lead the Lady Toppers to a record of (9-4), along with a record of (1-1) early in Sun Belt Conference play. The Lady Tops host Georgia State this Wednesday at 11:30 AM.
