Brandon Harris Named SBC Player of the Week

I think the Tops have found their missing ingredient. At the very least, a key component.
Brandon Harris is officially back, and he has quite the honor to welcome him. After missing the first 3 contests all together of the season, and playing just a handful of minutes until he was completely adjusted, Harris played all 40 minutes in Saturday’s win against Southern Illinois, notching a career high 30 points and going perfect from the free throw line. With such a performance, it was a no-brainer for the Sun Belt, as Harris was announced today as the confrence’s Player of the Week. Harris is the first Topper to be named to the honor, and the second player on the Hill to do so on the hardwood. Chastity Gooch was named SBC Player of the Week in the women’s game a couple of weeks back. It’s also the 2nd time Harris has been named POTW, the first time came in January after averaging 19 points, 8.5 boards and 36 minutes against ULL and UALR.
It’s no secret the Tops season has been up and down, and the biggest challenge of the season is staring them in the face, as WKU will head to play the defending national champion Louisville Cardinals on Saturday. WKU is going to need Harris to repeat his performance from Saturday, along with similar performances from George and T.J.
Not to look ahead or get off topic too much, but following UofL, the Tops will come back to Diddle for a four game home stretch, which will end with Marshal Henderson and the Fighting Bjorks…I mean the Ole Miss Rebles inside Diddle.
But, for now in this moment and day, major props to Mr. Harris. He can do it all folks, and SBCPOTW is just another step in the right direction.
Join Brandon and stand up and cheers.
