#ProToppers: Lee Scratched From Start

Last night saw both the Celtics and Jazz in action again, but with Jeremy Evans out (no specified time) Courtney Lee was the only ProTopper to see any action last night (which he saw in front of a national TV audience on ESPN).

While in the Celtics’ game notes he was listed as a projected starter, Coach Stevens opted to start Jeff Green in his place. But, that doesn’t mean Lee wasn’t a factor. In his 25+ minutes on the floor, Lee contributed 9 points, forced a couple of turnovers, dished out 4 assists and grabbed a couple of boards. 6 of Lee’s 9 points came from beyond the arc, as he hit 2 of his attempted 4 3-point attempts.

Aside from leading the C’s in scoring a week and a half ago, this is one of Lee’s best performances this preseason, and as the regular season sneaks up, we can only hope he continues to become a bigger factor on the court.

Lee’s efforts helped Boston win against (a Keven Garnett & Paul Pierce-less) Brooklyn 101-97, and improve to 2-6 in the preseason.

The Evans-less Jazz fell to the Clippers 103-99 to fall to 1-6.

The Jazz will finish their preseason sechudle Friday with the LA Lakers, and the Celtics are now preparing for their season opener against the Raptors on Oct. 30th (next Wednesday).

Stand up and cheers.
