#ProToppers – Lee and Evans

Boy, has it been a tough preseason for both of our ProToppers, not just in terms of personal contributions, but how their respective teams have done.
Last night saw another night with both the Celtics and Jazz in action, with the Celtics dropping to 1-6 in the preseason with a 104-89 shellacking to the hands of the Timberwolves in Monteral and the Jazz fell to 1-4 by losing to the Thunder by 6 points.
Not only are things bad for Boston and Utah, it’s also not pretty for each respective team’s ProToppers. For the C’s, Courtney Lee started and played a good amount of ball, but played the 2nd least amount of all the starters, taking in 21:07 and only posting a single bucket. It wasn’t a complete waste though, as Lee did dish out an assist and grab a couple of boards for Boston, but that was all she wrote.
While Lee had a tough night, he’s having a better time than Jeremy Evans, who spent Sunday’s game versus OKC on the injury list for the first time this preseason with a right rotator cuff strain. In the 4 games that Evans has played, he is averaging 6.3 points a game in just over 20 minutes per game, to go along nicely with 5 boards a contest.
Let’s hope that these preseason warm ups are just that…warm ups…for our two ProToppers. Evans looks to be a solid 6th man for the Jazz, and Lee lead the Celtics in scoring about a week ago, so lets hope that is a common occurrence in 2013-2014.
And, on behalf of WTRT and WKU nation, we hope Evans has a speedy recovery (And he should. Strain’s usually aren’t too big of a worry.)
Stand up and cheers.
