#ProToppers: Lee Leads All C’s Scorers in Loss

It’s been a rough couple of days for Hilltopper athletics. Not only did the WKU volleyball team drop their first set in 40 tries last Friday night vs. ULM, but they dropped a conference match for the first time in 38-matches on Sunday against ULL. Speaking of the Ragin Cajuns, don’t even get me started on last nigh’ts debacle on the football field.

But, it isn’t all bad. Last night the Boston Celtics and former WKU star Courtney Lee took the court for the first time since Saturday, and while the C’s dropped another preseason game (vs. a Brooklyn team featruing long-time Celtic Paul Pierce), Courtney Lee had his best night of the tuneup season. Lee didn’t start, but played nearly 30 minutes of ball, only being outplayed by Mr. Kardashian Kris Humpheries by 24 seconds (27:35 for Lee, 27:59 for Humpheries). Lee also lead all Boston scorers with 14 points, attempting 13 field goals, shooting 50% from beyond the arc, and was perfect at the free-throw line and grabbed four rebounds. Lee’s 14 points was good enough to tie for 2nd most points on the night with Brooklyn’s Andray Baltche (who hit the mark in just 24 minutes). Net center Brook Lopez lead all scorers with 20.

The Celtics are back in action tonight against the Toronto Raptors, and Hardwood Houdini will have all the coverage for you.

Stand up and cheers.
