WKU Weekly Wrapup: 10/6-10/12

WKU and ULM meet at half court before the match begins.
Soccer: WKU 1 – Texas St. 0, WKU 1 – Troy 0
WKU had another perfect week on the pitch, as the Lady Tops remained undefeated in Sun Belt play this weekend by narrowly escaping Texas St. in San Marco on Sunday, and beat Troy at home on Friday, both 1-0 victories. Andrea Curry and Iris Dunn were the two goal scorers for the Lady Toppers this week, as Curry’s came in the 108th minute on Sunday, and Dunn’s came in the 86th on Friday. A questionalbe no-goal call helped WKU escape the Trojans.
Volleyball: WKU 3 – ULM 1
The volleyball version of the Lady Toppers had a rough night on Friday…well, in relative terms. The ladies welcomed in Louisiana-Monore to Diddle arena, where the Warhawks snapped a 40-SBC set victory streak for WKU. The Lady Tops would regain composure to win the set 3-1 to remain undefeated in conference play as well. Ashley Potts (30 digs), Melanie Stutsman (60 assists) and Haley Boadway (21 kills, .645 hitting percentage) all had career bests, and two more Lady Tops (Noelle Langenkamp and Heather Boyan) posted double-digit kills while Mollie Pajakowski also notched double-digit digs with 10.
Swimming: WKU 195 – Delta St. 90 (Womens), WKU 182.5 – Delta St. 107.5 (Mens)
The WKU swim and dive teams got underway Saturday down in Cleveland, Mississippi, against the Delta State Statesmen. The Tops dominated in nearly all aspects of the meet, going on to win 23 of the 28 individual events.
Stand up and cheers.
